Query Letter Secrets, a four-week online class
Class starts February 5, 2007
Query letters are arguably the most important tool writers use to introduce themselves to editors. You could keep writing your query letters based on worn-out theories that circulate online, and in some books, or you can spend four weeks learning what editors really want to read in your queries and make those sales! This class will walk you through each step from choosing a topic, finding a publication, and researching and writing your query letter. You will learn the different types of query letters and when to use them, as well as how to capture an editor's attention in the first few words of your letter. At the end of class you will have four query letters to send out to targeted publications, plus a deep understanding of different ways to sell your work and yourself to editors.

Self-promotion for Writers, a four-week online class
Start date: February 5, 2007
Writers write, but they also darn well better promote themselves. Learn how many ways you have at your fingertips to promote your writing, your books and yourself. I've worked in publicity for a decade and can show you how to create your own attention-getting press releases and promotion campaigns. Have you heard that writers need to spend 75 percent of their working time on promotion? I have, and I simply don't believe it…if you have the right information, use the best tools, and follow the advice in this class, you can, very quickly, devote 75 percent of your writing time to writing, and only 25 percent to selling your work.
